Visitors often ask me where to find the best place for a breakfast or a brunch in Paris. My favourite places are Claus, on the “rive droite” and Colorova on the “rive gauche”. If you are thinking of trying one of them, I strongly recommend to book in advance.

Everything at Claus is delicious from the fresh squeezed juice to the fluffy scrambled eggs and tasty muesli. You will have a choice of different breakfast menus or you can also order à la carte.

If you don’t have time for breakfast there, you should at least try one of their homemade pastries, available as a takeaway.

Claus is only 5 minutes away from the Palais Royal so you can easily take a walk around the beautiful Palais Royal garden after your breakfast. If you are more interested in shopping, you can stop by the Louboutin boutique on the other side of the street and stroll around the covered Galerie Véro-Dodat.

Colorova is another must-try, as I was explaining it in my article here. There is definitely something magical as soon as you enter this place. Bright and coloured artwork pieces are covering the walls. The menu changes regularly but remains as delicious and colourful everytime. No wonder their sophisticated pastries and brunch are a delight when you learn that the founders were trained at the famous Ferrandi school on the other side of the street.

If you prefer to eat something savoury and try some world food, I strongly recommend to go to Le Marché des Enfants Rouges. It is obviously no longer a secret and gets very busy on Sundays so it is best to come early as they won’t take any bookings.

The addresses :

Claus, 14 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau – 75001 Paris

Colorova, 47 rue de l’Abbé Grégoire – 75006 Paris
